The Hummingbird is Gibson’s flagship square shoulder dreadnought which has been part of the line in one way or another since the 1960s. The Gibson Hummingbird Faded offers legacy details of the Hummingbird in a satin nitro finish for a comfortable worn in feel. The solid Sitka Spruce top with Mahogany back and sides is true to spec of the original Hummingbird guitars. The x-brace design of these guitars offers a compression and almost distortion on harder strumming making them exceptionally percussive instruments that fit in even in the largest mixes. The tone of Mahogany is balanced across the EQ band, supporting the singer/songwriter exceptionally well to boot.
This model is adorned with the iconic Hummingbird pickguard, split parallelogram inlays, and a Hummingbird truss rod cover. The top and back have multi-ply biding, while the rosewood fingerboard gets a single ply for looks and comfort. The round neck profile, 12” fingerboard radius, and 24.75” scale length are all tried and true Gibson. Electronics are LR Baggs VTC, with discreet tone and volume controls in the soundhole.
