The body of the is constructed from a 2-piece alder, carefully sorted for light weight, offering a balanced tone and resonance that has long characterized the Jazz Bass sound. Its classic ’64 J-Bass body shape is cloaked in a striking Journeyman Relic Super Faded Aged Tahitian Coral finish with some dings, nicks, and checking giving the instrument a well-loved, played-in aesthetic.
The neck, constructed from quarter-sawn maple and finished with medium-tint nitrocellulose lacquer with heavy relic treatment on the back of the neck for buttery smooth playability. This pairs beautifully with the AAA rosewood fingerboard that has been sorted for darkness. With a 7.25″ radius and 20 medium jumbo (6150) frets, the neck features a comfortable ’60 J-Bass “U” profile measuring .790″-.990″ from the 1st to the 12th fret, resulting in a fast-playing feel and fluid transition between notes.
The hand-wound vintage J-Bass pickups, located in the neck and bridge, deliver the rich, full-bodied tonality that has made the Jazz Bass a beloved instrument across generations. This model features 64 J-Bass control system—master volume and independent tones—granting precise control over the instrument’s sonic characteristics.
Completing the setup, the bass features vintage nickel tuning machines, a bone nut with a width of 1.5″, and a P/J Bass bridge, ensuring optimal tuning stability and intonation. The Limited Edition ’64 Jazz Bass clocks in at 9lbs 4.1oz and is accompanied by a black FCS J-Bass case, safeguarding this beautiful instrument between sessions.
