This Fender Custom Shop ’65 Stratocaster begins with a two-piece alder body finished in Walnut nitrocellulose lacquer. This guitar is NOS (New Old Stock), meaning it has zero aging treatment done. The black pickguard pairs well with the bright white pickup covers, knobs, control plate, and switch tip.
Perhaps the star of the show is the solid rosewood neck is wrapped with a round lam AAA rosewood board that is inlayed with 7MM mother-of-pearl dots. Side dots are also MOP. Profile is a ’65 “C” with a 1st fret thickness of .820″ that thickens up to .974″ at the 12th fret.
Pickups are three Hand-Wound El Diablo single coils for an aggressive take on the iconic Strat sound. The middle pickup is reverse-wound and reverse polarity for hum-cancelling. They are controlled by a 5-way selector switch and a standard 1xVolume, 2xTone configuration.
Weighing in at a nice 7lbs, 10oz, this is a stunning sample of Fender Custom Shop excellence. Complete with bound floor traveler/COA and a black hardshell case with crushed blue interior.
