The Epiphone Adam Jones Les Paul Custom Art Collection is a series of 7 Silverburst Les Paul Custom guitars that each feature an artists work on the back of the body. The “Tool” guitarist has curated seven works of art from five artists as well as additional back-of-headstock art from from Korin Faught. Each guitar is limited in production, with only 800 units being built worldwide.
The first guitar in the series features pop surrealist legend Mark Ryden’s “Veil of Bees”. Ryden is considered the “god-father” of the lowbrow movement and is a natural choice for the first guitar in Adam Jones’ art collection series.
In addition to showcasing iconic artist, each guitar is in fact a true Epiphone Les Paul Custom, inspired by Adam Jones’ 79 Gibson Les Paul Custom. The double-bound mahogany/maple body is finished in a stunning Antique Silverburst. The three-piece maple neck with a volute screams 70s Gibson. The 12” radius ebony fingerboard is bound in a single ply. The Epiphone LockTone bridge and tailpiece work in conjunction with the Graph Tech nut and 16:1 tuners to keep you playing in tune. The Electronics are pure Adam Jones, with a reverse mounted, covered, Epiphone ProBucker in the neck and an uncovered Seymour Duncan Distortion in the bridge. Controls are standard with 2xVol, 2xTone, 3-way selector, but beefed up with CTS Pots and Orange Drop Caps.
Each guitar in the series also features a control cavity cover that features the artist’s name and the title of the artwork. Korin Faught created the design on the back of the headstock that runs through all seven models. Each model ships in a Protector hardshell case.
