Taylor Guitars Master Builder Andy Powers set out to design a guitar that sang like no other. Powers pursued fluid and colorful tones that projected akin to an orchestra with sustain and resonance to create luscious tones unlike any before. With deliberate design and careful construction, Taylor Guitars welcomes the Builder’s Edition 816ce.
Cutting-edge design and materials of the highest quality meet in the Builder’s Edition 816ce. The Grand Symphony body is constructed from Indian rosewood and Lutz spruce, a classic Taylor tonewood combination. The Lutz spruce top and Indian rosewood back and sides create the low-end warmth famous from Taylor Guitars. Enhanced by innovative V-Class bracing, the 816ce projects with a refined voice, enhanced greatly by its newest innovation.
The soundport cutaway is an ear and eye-catching attraction making a debut with the 816ce. This newly designed feature works in tandem with Taylor’s V-Class bracing construction to create an immersive musical experience that projects the refined tones of the 816ce in new and interesting ways. Articulate picking and fulfilling fretting are enhanced and given new spaces to roam from the soundport, while the partial cutaway allows easier access to higher registers.
Embellished with fine Taylor appointments and design specifications, the chamfered body and fretboard edges with Gotoh 510 tuners are accompanied by an authentic and environmentally conscious West African Ebony fretboard and bridge. The 816ce comes equipped with Expression System 2 electronics and is shipped in a deluxe Taylor hardshell case.
Always in pursuit of the next great innovation, the Builder’s Edition 816ce proves the ambition of Taylor Guitars and the drive to make the next big step.
